Before being admitted to the LRGD, the expert must:
- satisfy the social requirements for expertise in the relevant field (government accreditation and/or membership in professional organisation(s);
- have completed a legal educational programme, aimed specifically at training students for a career as an expert in the legal process;
- be in possession of a Certificate of Good Conduct (Verklaring omtrent het gedrag, VOG) for acting in the capacity of expert;
- subscribe and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
Experts registered with the LRGD have met the permanent education requirement and are subject to the LRGD disciplinary regulations.
The Admission Committee decides on applications and advises the General Board. An appeal can be made against the decision and this will be heard by the Supervisory Board.
